Mob protest, barricade Police Station
Angry Residents of Kabba, headquarters of Kabba-Bunu Local Governnent Area of Kogi State on Saturday, protested alleged killing of a boy by a yet- to be identified police man in the town,following argument over a sachet of table water popularly called’ Pure Water’
Current matters gathered that the protesters barricaded the police station in Kabba, chanting war songs while the police made efforts to dispel them with tear gas to drive them away.
Eyewitness account revealed that trouble started when the victim allegedly took a sachet of pure water belonging to the policeman from his car to drink without approval from the police man.
The developmnt, reportedly led to argument between the police man, and the boy which eventually resulted in the death of the boy.
Reacting to the development in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Lokoja, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Egbuka who confirmed the incident, said the command had commenced investigation into the matter.
According to him , preliminary report from the Area Commander of Police in the area indicates that the policeman was trying to defend himself when the tragic incident happened.
