The Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA in Saturday’s Governorship election,Prof. Chukwuma Soludo appears to be on his way to victory as he defeated 17 other candidates in 10 out of 11 local government areas results already announced and formally accepted by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Awka.
The local government so far announced are Orumba,Nnewi North,Idemili,Ayamelum, Anambra East,Aniocha,Oyi,Awka South and Dunukofia.
Our correspondent reports that the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN also won in some local government areas collated but yet to be declared by INEC
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress APC has called for the cancellation of the Anambra Gubernatorial election
Chief Basil Ejidike,APC Chairman, Anambra State described what the election as a big time electoral fraud and malpractices.
Heaping allegations on Governor Obiano and Soludo for the electoral fraud, the APC chairman claimed that the people of Anambra ( Ndi Anambra) wants an APC governor saying no one can deny them that opportunity.
Ejidike called on INEC to cancel the election and fix a date for fresh election devoid of malpractices warning that the party would not hesitate to go to court if the electoral umpire goes ahead to announce the results.
