Petroleum Tankers Drivers ( PTD) under the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers ( NUPENG) have threatened to go on strike on Monday over the deplorable state of Nigerian Roads.
The South West Zonal Chairman of NUPENG, MrTayo Aboyeji told newsmen that all tanker drivers from the union would withdraw their services nationwide.
According to Aboyeji they are embarking on strike as” All calls by the executive of the unions have fallen off deaf ears of the government as the highways continue to deteriorate nationwide “
The development he said has resulted in harrowing experiences for the drivers including incidences of fire involving petroleum tankers and loss of lives.
