The Minister for Transportation,Rtd. Hon . Rotimi Amaechi arrived Port Harcourt on Monday afternoon ahead of Tuesday’s ground breaking ceremony of the Eastern Narrow guage railway project, Bonny deep seaport and Railway Industrial park in Port Harcourt by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Programme which holds at the Port Harcourt railway station,Odual road, station bus stop,Port Harcourt is scheduled for 11.a.m.
On ground to receive the Minister were the Acting Executive of the All Progressives Congress ( APC)and other party faithful in the state and the Niger Delta region
Intending members and non party members were not also left out of the occasion of his arrival at the airport and home.
The over $3 billion project is for rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Port Harcourt to Maiduguri Eastern Narrow Guage Railway with new branch lines and trans- shipment facilities.
The reconstructed rail is expected to have new lines linking Bonny to Port Harcourt and Port Harcourt to Owerri.
