Unidentified hoodlums on Sunday killed a police officer, and carted away his service rifle at a church premises in Ogor, Ughelli, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State
The deceased, Nimyel Nwangwang serving at PMF 31 Ogwashi-Uku, was reportedly on escort duty with a female VIP who had gone to a pentecostal church for worship along Ughelli / Oviri- Ogor road,Ogor when the hoodlums stormed the church premises and shot the police officer.
He was rushed to the Ughelli Central Hospital where he was confirmed dead and his remains deposited at the mortuary.
The Delta State Police spokesman Onome Onovwakpoyeya who confirmed the incident to newsmen on Sunday in Warri, said the late Inspector was attached to the PMF 31 Ogwashi-Uku but on escort duty with an unnamed VIP
