
President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of Inspector General of Police , Mohammed Adamu by 3 months.
The Minister of Police Affairs. Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi said the extension was in order to have enough time to pick a competent personnel to be on the saddle.
The development comes in the middle of brewing controversy over alleged constitutional breaches caused by the President’s silence and failure to fill up the position upon Adamu’s retirement.
Adamu officially retired from Police service on Monday, February 1,2021 having spent thirty five years in office.
He was recriuted into the Police Force on February 2,1986 and will turn 60 on September 17,2021.
