Governors under the aegis of Progressives Governors Forum ( PGF), have commended the decision of Governor Dave Umahi to join the All Progressives Congress ( APC).
In a statement signed by the PGF chairman and governor of Kebbi state, Abubakar Bagudu on Friday, the progressives governors heartily welcome Governor Umahi to the APC saying they celebrate the decision of the governor as a testament to APC’s capacity to mobilise all Nigerians.
According to the PGF,” the vision of the founding fathers of our legacies party is for the APC to serve as a platform to unite all Nigerians under a progressive umbrella.”
“With Chief Umahi now in APC, the vision is further reinforced and shall contribute to the process of membership and leadership recruitment at all levels.”
The governors said it was heartwarming that despite the fabricated campaigns against the party ,the Ebony governor was able to take the bold step to join the party.
While acknowledging that the governor’s defection bore testimony of President Buhari’s credentials as a leader who holds the issues of justice and fairness very dearly,It said it was confident that the National Caretaker Extra ordinary/Convention Planning Committee will soon release a detailed programme of activities leading to the National Convention.
