
United States of America on has rejected the proposal to endorse Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as Director General,World Trade Organisation WTO.
Earlier on Wednesday,her emergence had made the rounds as most member states excluding the United States, who had not hidden its disapproval for the Nigerian endorsed her candidacy.
For her to be appointed Director General of the WTO, the former Nigeria’s finance minister would need clearance from all WTO members and her candidacy put to a General Council of the WTO on November 9 for endorsement WTO spokesman says.
