In a viral video in circulation, the re-elected governor of Edo State Godwin Obaseki,says he was relegated to the background as a governor by his estwhile godfaher to the extent that he was not able to nominate any one for any appointment.
Obaseki who obviously was giving details of his frustrated relationship with his former boss said he was kept in the dark on issues that bordered on appointment and empowerment of Edo indigenes at the federal level which were somewhat comnunicated to him by Members of the Assembly when the deed had been done.
The governor said he endured for so long and when he was informed of such development, the best he did was to keep quiet.
He however said it was enough as he cannot be governor and will not perform the role of a governor
“We have endured so much as a government .As a governor, I have not been able to nominate somebody for federal appointment, and meanwhile federal appointments are made everyday. As I sit down,they will call me from the Senate, Are you aware of this,? I keep quiet. I can not be governor and not be governor.’
