Ekweremadu: Ohanaeze condemns Court order on property forfeiture.

Pan – Igbo Socio – Cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has faulted Friday’s decision of the Abuja High Court ordering interim forfeiture of 40 landed properties belonging to Senator Ike Ekweremadu.

A statement by Dr Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, the Naty Publicity Secretary described the ruling as hasty, and selective , moreso, coming at a period of tribulation of the lawmaker .

The group said the Senator ought” to be given the opportunity to defend himself on his properties: and if found wanting should surely face the consequences ‘;

It noted that several allegations of corruption cases are pending in EFCC but the urgency in the case of Ekweremadu calls for greater concern

To this end, the group called on legal luminaries of goodwill to rise against gradual steps towards totalitarianism

Ekweremadu,a former Deputy Senate President was arrested in June by the London Metropolitan Police over alleged organ trafficking..
