Two neighbours,Oju Onuike,a 34 year old businesswoman and Osakwe Chininende 37, ,a civil servant, were arraigned by Police on Thursday,in a Grade 1Area Court in Kubwa, Abuja, for allegedly fighting in public.
The Prosecuting counsel,John Okpa, told the Court that the defendants who are residents of Maryson’,s street,Byazhin, Kubwa, got into a fight over trash bins in the compound
The council said the defendants while fighting,bit each other and that constituted a nuisance and disturbed the peace, adding that the offence contravened Section 113 of the Penal Code.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.
The Judge, Muhammad Adamu granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each with one surety each in like sum who must be husbands to the defendants and resident within the court’s jurisdiction
Adamu adjourned the case to September 18 for hearing
