Unidentified gunmen have reportedly shot dead a member of the Enerhen vigilante group and made away with his rifle.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Justice Dugbo lane at Enerhen in Uvwei Local Government Area of Delta State.
The gunmen were said to have laid ambush for the vigilante and opened fire on him as soon as they sighted him before carting away his rifle.
They were said to have shot sporadically into the air and robbed residents in the area.
The Police Spokesman in the state,Onome Onowakpoyeya confirmed the incident to newsmen.
