A male passenger who boarded an Air Peace Calabar-Abuja flight P47182, Friday,died while the flight was airborne.
It was gathered that the deceased had a case of paraplegia due to spinal injury since 2019 and had been on medication and going for check up in Abuja
The Man who was 72years old became very sick while on board the flight and upon arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja,he was checked by Port Health Officials who confirmed him dead and took his remains to the hospital for other formalities.
The deceased was escorted to the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar by his daughter with no sign that he would not make the trip alive.
According to the Spokesman of Air Peace, Stanley Olise, the deceased was certified fit to fly before embarking on the journey.but developed a medical condition in-flight.
He said” On arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja,we urgently notified the Port Health Officials who confirmed the death and took the remains of the passenger to the hospital for the neccessary protocols.Air Peace has thoroughly decontaminated its aircraft and Port Health is on top of the situation”.
