
Kaduna State government says the justice system of the state will no longer grant bail to rapist as the state is considering plans for castration of convicts.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai disclosed this on Monday iwhen a group of women, advocating for justice for rape victims,staged a peaceful rally at Government House Kaduna.
He said the Chief Judge of the state had assured that henceforth no one accused of rape would be granted bail under any circumstances as they go back to commit the same offence
El-Rufai said that the state has a strong legislation against rape as legislation provides 21yesrs sentence for rape of an adult and life imprisonment for the rape of a child.
He expressed optimism that the issues of rape would be a thing of the past.
