
The Oyo Police Command has warned the general public to be cautious as intelligence report say that members of secret cult organisations are planning to celebrate their annual anniversary on the July 7 and 8.
The Commission of Police, Nwachuku Enwonwu made the disclosure in a statement in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.
The Statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi said “ The Commissioner of Police wishes to inform the people of Oyo State the Annual Celebration of secret cult groups popularly known as ‘Aiye confraternity’ on 7th July and ‘Buccaneer’ on 8th of July every year across the South West states has come to the notice of the command.”
The Statement said “adequate measures have been emplaced to forestall any unlawful assembly and breakdown of law and order/loss of life associated with such unauthorised activities.”
The Command therefore urge parents to warn their children and wards from any activity capable of stirring the peace as the police would not relent in dealing with those who disturb the peace in the state.
