Current matters

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has directed members of the Super Falcons’ technical crew led by Coach Justin Madugu to step down with immediate effect.
The decision follows the failure of the team to secure an automatic ticket to the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
In a notice on Monday, the NFF Executive Committee stated no reason for the directive , however the move is not unconnected with the recent losses by the team at the continental and the World cup pre-qualification stages.
“The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has asked members of the technical crew of the @NGSuper_Falcons to step down with immediate effect,” the federation said.
The Super Falcons lost their first match to Malawi and managed to get to the quarter final of the just concluded WAFCON tournament in Morocco where they were eliminated by Cameroon 1-0 on Saturday August 9, 2026.
They were also sent out of the World cup qualifier match against South Africa last Thursday by 3-0
