An Isoko indigene of Delta State who specialized in exchanging new naira notes at public functions in Bayelsa State has been shot dead by an armed robbery gang at the premises of a new generation bank.
The robbers are said to have arrived the premises of GTB located at Sani Abacha road in a tinted Toyota Camry and shot a man carrying a bag suspected to contain some money.
Reports have it that the deceased had made withdrawal and was about entering a waiting tricycle popularly called “Keke” when he sighted a masked gunman alighting from a black Toyota Camry.
He then ran out of the “keke” and moved towards a bush path by the bank when he was shot and killed.
The Bayelsa State Police confirmed the incident and said that the police Command has launched a manhunt into the killing of the man.
Police Public Relations Officer,Asimin Buswat in a statement said that the unfortunate incident occurred on Friday July 3 2020 at about 10 o’ clock at the premises of a new generation bank in Yenegoa when a customer was accosted by unknown gunmen after he withdrew money.
The armed robbers who came in a black Toyota Camry, accosted the customer,Emmanuel Omomo when he came out of the bank after making withdrawals, shot him and collected all the money in his possession and zoomed off.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Center Yenegoa where he was confirmed dead.
