Flooding in the lokogoma district of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, has left one dead while another has been rescued.
The deceased one James Odey who was in company of one Nsendoo Ukator is believed to have attempted to drive along the flooded water near Efab Estate when his vehicle a Toyota Corolla car was submerged by the floods.
Meanwhile the search and rescue team of the Federal Emergency Management Agency FEMA has recovered the body of the deceased and rescued the other occupant of the vehicle.
Reacting to the incident, The Director General of FEMA, Alhaji Idris Abas warned residents to desist from acts capablej of causing flooding.
He advised them to stay away from flooded areas as floods are dangerous
Floods in lokogoma district had in August 2017 claimed the lives of a Man, one Kenneth Nwoga and his two Children , Winner and Prestige
The family was driving along Efab estate when their vehicle, a Toyota highlander SUV plunged into the floods.
That incident sparked a protest by Residents to draw the attention of government to the deplorable state of Infrastructure in the area.
Following incidents of incessant flooding resulting in deaths, the Federal Capital Territory Administration issued order to residents living on flood plains to vacate those areas
And Last year the FCTA demolished 150 houses in lokogoma and other areas in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
