The Crime Reporters Global Nigeria has called for the sack of the Commissioner of Police, the Director DSS, the Commandant, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC in Niger State with immediate effect, saying that, there is no moral justification for the heads of the security agencies to remain in office after the unimaginable barbaric operation of the mass abduction of students and teachers by terrorists.
In a statement signed by the National Chairman of the Association, Comrade Tita Onyebuchi, Nze, Mnuj, and Secretary General, Amb Barth Ikiebe, the act amounts to an aberration for the continued stay in office of the heads of security apparatus in Niger State, after the traumatic horrific drama and a Nollywoodlike movie of the abduction of more than 300 humans from one location to another.
The Crime Reporters Global Nigeria queries the form of logistics and transportation element used during the operation and subsequent movement, and asked that, “does it mean there was no presence of the Police, DSS, NSCDC and other security officials within the area; is it possible to move more than 300 persons out of one location to the other within an hour without any intelligence, interference, alarm, interface or interception?”
The incident of Niger State School abduction has further opened a very big can of worm on the inadequacies of our security operatives and has exposed either their negligence, inefficiency, complacency or even fingered them as accomplices in the dastardly act.
We are calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, the Chief Security Officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to with immediate effect, order the sack of the Niger State Commissioner of Police, State Director DSS and the Commandant NSCDC in the State, since they are the first lines of security apparatus and have exhibited failure in their obligations to protect lives and property in the affected area.
The Crime Reporters Global, argues that the country will continue to witness agonising acts of terrorism, high level corruption, overwhelming crime and criminalities and abominable acts, if punitive measures are not activated in all spheres to serve as deterrent. If officials are not severely punished for corrupt practices and subjected to suffer for their lapses, the country shall continue to witness unprecedented atrocities in the name of kidnapping, banditry, corruption and other forms of societal cruelty and anomalies.
“The sack of the Security heads in the State shall go a long way to show others example to wake up and sit up to their responsibilities”, the statement noted.
