A Grade One Area Court in Kubwa, Abuja, on Wednesday, dissolved a seven year old marriage between Salamat Dauda and husband,Isiyaka over payment of school fees.
The petitioner Dauda,had prayed the court to dissolve the marriage on account of her husband’s refusal to pay school fees for their three children and failure to provide for other needs of his family .
She told the court that her husband, who works in a construction company in Abuja shifted the responsibility of providing the needs of the family to her and said she could no longer cope with his behavior
She therefore asked the court to dissolve the marriage.
Her husband, Isiyaka consented to his wife’s prayers for divorce and said he had tried his best.
In his ruling, the Presiding Judge, Muhammad Adamu, ordered the petitioner to observe a waiting period of three months before contacting another marriage.
