Nigerian security operatives have rescued 13 abducted passengers In Benue
The passengers were reportedly travelling from Abeokuta,Ogun State in a Benue Links bus when they were abducted at Eke in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State,
According to a statement credited to Adah Inalegwu, the passengers were rescued in a joint effort led by the police with local vigilantees.
Inalegwu said two of the passengers were rescued on Saturday while the remaining 11 were rescued on Sunday after intense pressure from security agencies and youths from Kogi forced the kidnappers to abandon the victims at Oando village on Sunday evening.
He said the provision of logistics by Governor Hyacinth Alia, with improved security surveillance and tracking, led to the rescue of the victims.
Meantime, the victims are being profiled before they are reunited with their families.
