The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities ( SSANU) and the Non Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions ( NASU) have resolved to proceed on 7 – day warning strike from Monday,18th March,2024.
This is contained in a statement by the Joint Action Congress ( JAC ) of the Unions on Sunday.
The statement signed by NASU General Secretary, Peter Adeyemi and SSANU president, Mohammed Ibrahim said the decision to embark on strike followed the expiration of the deadline given to the Federal Government to pay their 4 month withheld salaries .
It said the strike which” should be comprehensive and total “will take place throughout the country adding that it is mandatory for members of the unions in Universities and inter -universities centres to comply with the directive.
