An accident along the airport road, Abuja was erroneously reported by the media as that involving the convoy of the Vice President,Prof. Yemi Osinbajo
The Vice President was reportedly on his way on Monday to Ondo via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to deliver condolences on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari to the Government and people of the state when the incident happened.
According to reports, there may have been casualties as the VP’s aides were seen in a viral video bringing out an injured person..
However, his Spokesman,Laolu Akande described the report as fake news and explained that his principal was on his way to the airport on Monday morning when he saw a road traffic accident and stopped to help.
” On his way to the airport this morning,VP came across a road traffic accident, stopped to lend assistance & ensured victim was taken to the hospital with VP’s convoy ambulance. He then proceeded on his trip and he is now in Ondo heading to the site of yesterday’s attack in Owo” he told newsmen.
