US Secretary of the Army Daniel P. Driscoll has resigned from his position at the Pentagon, following what appears to be months of tension and disagreement with Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth.

The resignation comes barely forty eight hours after the US renewed fresh hostility against Iran.

So far, there has been no confirmed civilian secretary and no confirmed chief of staff. The former Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George was ordered to step down and retired in April.

Analysts believe that the resignation may not be unconnected with calls for halting further extension of military offensive against Iran.
