Malami Unveils ADC Kebbi Campaign Council

By Barth Ikiebe

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Campaign Council in Kebbi State has unveiled its Director-General and inaugurated more than 600 members of the Campaign Council at the Party Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, marking a major step towards building a broad-based and coordinated campaign structure across the state.

The event witnessed a large crowd of party faithful.

Speaking at the event, Alhaji Malami described the occasion as more than the announcement of names and positions, saying it represented the establishment of an inclusive campaign structure capable of taking the ADC’s message to every part of Kebbi State.

He said the Campaign Council, drawn from different communities, local government areas, Senatorial districts and backgrounds, reflected the diversity of Kebbi State and the party’s commitment to ensuring that every community has a voice and a stake in the political process.

Malami acknowledged the party’s Senatorial candidates, Gen. Aminu Bande for Kebbi Central, Garba Maidoki for Kebbi South, and Chiroman Kabi, Alh. Mera for Kebbi North, as well as other candidates contesting under the ADC platform.

He stressed that the campaign must be viewed as a collective effort rather than the project of any individual candidate.

“Different candidates, one ADC. Different communities, one Kebbi State. Different responsibilities, one common purpose”, he noted.

Malami called on members of the Campaign Council to reject tribalism, sectionalism and personal rivalry, stressing that the strength of the party would depend on its ability to unite people across communities and political interests.

He urged members to reconcile differences, listen to grievances and rebuild trust, particularly among party members who may have previously supported different aspirants.

Malami also charged the Campaign Council to conduct its activities with discipline, dignity and respect, warning against tribal insults, hate speech and inflammatory rhetoric.

“Elections will come and go, but our communities will remain. No political ambition is worth destroying the bonds that hold our people together.”

Addressing the Director-General and the more than 600 members of the Council, Malami described their appointments as a call to service, rather than merely an honour.

He urged them to organise, mobilise, reconcile and listen to the people, while taking the ADC’s message to every local government, ward, community and polling unit in Kebbi State.

Malami reaffirmed the Campaign Council’s commitment to unity over division, cooperation over rivalry, reconciliation over bitterness, respect over insults and service over personal interest.

He called on members to return to their communities as ambassadors and bridge-builders of the ADC, stressing that the inauguration marked “the beginning of the work” towards building a stronger political movement in Kebbi State.

Malami concluded his speech with a call on members to rise above their differences and work together in the service of the people.

“Let us arise together in service to our people. And together, let us make Kebbi State shine.”
Arise and Shine!”, Malami remarked.
