The Nigerian Railway Corporation( NRC )has confirmed that a serious train accident took place at Agbor along the Warri – Itakpe Train Service Corridor.
A statement issued by Dr Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director of the NRC said rescue efforts are ongoing.
“The Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC) confirms a serious train accident at Agbor along the Warri–Itakpe Train Service (WITS) corridor.
“Rescue and emergency response operations are currently ongoing at the scene, while relevant authorities are working to ascertain the full extent of the incident.
“Further details will be communicated as they become available.
Although the management of the NRC did not mention casualties in the incident, reports indicate that at least three passengers lost their lives while a number of them are injured.
