
The All Progressives Congress APC has won the by-election in the Ahoada East and Khana State Constituencies conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC on Saturday in Rivers State.
For Ahoada East State Constituency ll, INEC announced that Ukalikpe Napoleon emerged as the winner of the poll after collation of results from all voting areas in the constituency.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Rosemary Ogbo, said the election was properly conducted and featured candidates from several political parties.
Results released showed that Ukalikpe Napoleon polled 3,980 votes to beat his closest challenger, Ego Marvelous of the Action Alliance, who got 33 votes.
The results also showed that Godstime Egor of the Action Party of Nigeria scored 38 votes, while Oseja Clifford of the Boot Party received 11 votes. Others are Ephraim Raphael Ede of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and Ogide Samson Greatman of the Young Progressives Party who got seven votes each while Kwodu Saturday Prosper of the Zenith Labour Party scored six votes.
Prof. Ogbo declared the APC candidate winner stating that he met all constitutional and electoral requirements and had the highest number of valid votes cast.
IN Khana Constituency 2, the APC candidate,Loolo Bulabari Henrietta, was declared winner by INEC.
She polled a total of 7,647 to defeat the candidates of the New Nigeria Peoples Party,NNPP, the Action Alliance AA, the Young Peoples party YPP and the Zenith Labour Party,ZLP.
