
Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have suffered a setback in their desperation to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara following the rejection by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Simeon Amadi to set up a seven man panel to probe allegations of gross misconduct against the Governor.
The Chief Judge said his decision was based on court orders that prohibited him from creating such a panel. He said he hoped the lawmakers would be “magnanimous enough to appreciate the legal position of the matter”.
