The Nigerian Navy has assured of its full participation in the NAWOJ WINSEC Summit Award 2026.
The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, represented by the Chief of Naval Transformation and Innovation, Rear Admiral C Onyinmobi, gave the assurance when the NAWOJ Delegates and Members of Committee paid a courtesy visit to the CNS at Naval headquarters on Friday.
The Naval Chief said the Nigerian Navy would render support and also send a team to grace the historic occasion taking place on the 5th of August, 2026 at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
He explained that the Nigerian Navy has the highest number of female personnel in the military, hence its interest to participate in the WINSEC Summit/Award.
Earlier, the Chairperson of NAWOJ, who led the delegation, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim, thanked the Nigerian Navy for the warm reception and intimated the management team of the need for strategic collaboration between the media and military.
According to her, “the military and media share a common responsibility in nation building and as result, there is need to work together to build trust.
She used the opportunity to formally invite the Nigerian Navy to attend the event and forward names of its award nominees for recognition.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of Souvenir to NAWOJ Chairperson and a group photograph of all attendees.
