
Nigeria has secured bronze medal in the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON after defeating the Pharaohs of Egypt in the third place match decided at the Casablanca Stadium in Morrocco on Saturday.
The match reached its first 90 minutes cycle with each side of the team producing no goal and ended in penalty shootout..
Ademola Lookman scored the decisive penalty while Nigerian goalie, Stanley Nwabali made two key saves – one from Mohammed Salah and the other from Omar Marmoush making him the man of the match.
The Super Eagles had lost to hosts Morocco via penalties in the semi-final.
. The final will be played tomorrow( Sunday )between Morocco and Senegal.
