
After ten days of detention in Burkina Faso for alleged territorial breaches, the authorities in that country have released 11 Nigerian soldiers and their Air force aircraft.
The soldiers were reportedly on their way to Portugal from Lagos when their Aircraft, Air Force C130 made an emergency landing in Bobo Dioulasso on December 8.
The Punch quotes the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ,Kimiebi Ebienfa as saying ” They have been released. I just confirmed with our Head of Missions.
The release comes shortly after the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar delivered President Bola Tinubu’s message of solidarity to Capt, Ibrahim Traore, the President of Burkina Faso President.in Ouagadougou
According to the Minister, discussion centred on cooperation across several sections, including security and the fight against terrorism.
