Hungarian Novelist Krasznahorka wins Prize for Literature

The Norwegian Nobel Committee on Friday named Venezuela’s opposition leader and democracy activist Maria Corina Machado, as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize
According to Jorgen Watne Frydnes, Chair of the Nobel Committee in Oslo,Machado was honoured “for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy,”
Meanwhile, Hungarian Novelist,Krasznahorka has been awarded the Nobel prize for Literature” for his compelling and visionary oeuvre that,in the midst of apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the power of art”
Krasznahorka is the second Hungarian to win the Nobel Prize for Literature, the first being Imre Kertesz who won in 2002. The award wil be presented to him in December at a ceremony in Stockholm.
