Diabetes:Nigeria, China Partner to Manufacture Insulin Locally

The Federal Government
has signed a landmark agreement with Shanghai Haiqi Industrial Company of China to establish local insulin production to end the over dependence on imported insulin.

The partnership coming through the Ministry of Innovation, Science & Technology and its research arm NABRDA, reveals
Cheaper, more accessible insulin for patients; Stable supply of life-saving medication;
Technology transfer & job creation; and
Strengthened local biotech capacity.

Diabetes treatment is expensive and unaffordable following the hike in foreign currency . This has led to severe situations and untimely deaths .
