The Rivers State Government has said that a letter purportedly on the House of Assembly’s resolution following the Supreme Court judgement was only in the domain of the social media as it is yet to receive any as of close of work on Tuesday, March 4,2025.
A letter signed by Tammy Danagogo,the Secretary to the Government of Rivers State, said neither the office of the governor, nor the Deputy Governor’s office nor the office of the Accountant General has received the said letter.
It recalled that Governor Siminilayi Fubara had Sunday , March 2 stated clearly that his personal opinion notwithstanding,he would ,as a law abiding citizen obey and implement the supreme court ‘s decision.in accordance with the rule of law and in the best interest of the state
The statement said that the state is in touch with its lawyers on the certified true copy of the supreme court judgement adding that as soon as it is received Gov Fubara “will strive to implement same timeously in the best interest of our people “
