Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have impeached Mudashiru Obasa, as Speaker over allegations of fraud and misconduct.
The lawmakers in pleanary on Monday, subsequently replaced Obasa with his Deputy Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, representing Apapa 1.
Obasa has been Speaker of the House of Assembly since June 8, 2015.
Our correspondent reports that armed security personnel have taken over the assembly complex and environs.
