The Jukun people in Taraba State have a way of showcasing their talent in Music and Dance.
They do this through cultural groups, prominent of them are the Ichondi and the Goge groups.
These cultural groups are well known not just in Taraba but in Nigeria as a whole and represent the state in national cultural occasions.
During the Yuletide, they performed to the delight of the people who,in the spirit of the season yearned for classic entertainment.
The spectators were not disappointed as the cultural troupes gave their best amidst an ovation that suggested they were really impressed.
The cultural performances have a mixed scenery, old and new. In the old days they come out exclusively during occasions like the coronation/installation of the Aku Uka of Wukari.

But nowadays they are called out when dignitaries or prominent personalities of the area are honoured like chieftaincy, weddings etc.
This particular occasion was the 25th memorial ceremony of a prominent personality of the Jukun Kingdom, Mallam Agya Agbujoro who was a teacher, an educationist and political figure. In addition to being a traditionalist. He was a House of Rep. Member representing Wukari and Ibi federal constituency during the second Republic under the National Party of Nigeria (NPN). It held at the Elim Top Garden Resort,Wukari Town .
As a mark of honour and respect for his departed soul these traditional groups were called to perform at the ceremony.
As can be seen most of the people there are clad in the Jukun blue adire outfit because it is both a cultural and modern event of the Jukun people depicting their culture. The two groups also are clad in similar outfit.
The audience is a mixture of the old and young with some of his contemporaries, those he taught and mentored and representatives of the Jukun Traditional Council of which he was a prominent member when he was alive.
