
The Rivers State Chapter of the Poultry Association of Nigeria ( PAN) has a new executive.
They are Dr Charles Afonwa – Chairman, Engr Chris Ekekue Secretary, Mrs Sanusi Treasurer and Amonia Carolyn Nwuke Public Relations Officer PRO.
The new exco members on assumption of office paid a familiarisation visit to the state Commissioner of Agriculture where they informed him of the challenges farmers are facing in the state and the Niger Delta region as a whole.
Such challenges according to a statement by the association include harassment by touts, high doc and feed costs,non existence of feedmill and hatchery as well as lack of palliatives and grant for farmers,
The visit also aimed to foster collaboration between PAN and the Ministry.
