Following the death of Vwaere Diaso, the medical doctor who died after being trapped in an elevator last week,the Lagos government has sacked and blacklisted the facility managers in charge of the Lagos Island General Hospital, Odan
The decision was part of the resolutions of the panel set up by the government to look into the likely causes of the accident, identify persons who might be culpable, and suggest ways of preventing any future occurrence.
The government also said the general manager of the Lagos State Infrastructure and Asset Management Agency has been asked to immediately proceed on suspension.
Diaso was trapped in an elevator said to be serially faulty while going down to pick up food she ordered from a vendor.
She was said to have died after efforts to revive her failed.
The incident has resulted in the self eviction of doctors from the I’ll fated building as they do not want to fall prey to such public negligence.
