The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP,Dr Iyiorcha Ayu has stepped aside.
The development comes 24 hours after a High Court restrained Dr Ayu from parading as the National Chairman of the party.
The Deputy National Chairman,( North) Umar Iliya Damagum who steps into the office of National Chairman in acting capacity made this known in a press briefing on Tuesday.
He said the National Working Committee ( NWC) of the PDP took the decision as a law abiding party after a meeting of the committee in Abuja and assured that some of the suspension action on members would l be reviewed.
The Acting Chairman,Damagum hails from the same Northern region as Ayu .
