
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared Peoples Democratic Party PDP gubernatorial candidate,Umo Eno as winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election in Akwa Ibom state.
Eno scored a total of 356,346 to beat the candidates of the Young Progressive party YPP and All Progressives Congress APC who scored 136,262 and 129,602 votes respectively.
Eno won 29 local government areas out of 31 leaving the remaining two for the Young Progressive party. The APC did not win any local government area.
The governor – elect had promised to declare Fridays as ” Happy Hour” to give the people of the state a sense of socialisation and enjoyment.
