
Senator Prince Bassey Otu has won the Cross Rivers State All Progressives Congress( APC) Gubernatorial primary held on Thursday in Calabar.
Otu scored 811 votes to defeat Senator John Owan who polled 84 votes and Chris Agara’s 63 votes.
Consequently, Senator Bassey Otu was declared the winner by the Chairman of the CRS Primaries Election Committee, Mr. Nma Kolo, at the U. J. Esuene Stadium, Capital City, Calabar.
Prince Bassey Otu popularly called ( Sweet Prince) had previously won by consensus but some of the aspirants insisted that they should all test their popularity on the battlefield.
Prince Otu represented Calabar South in the seventh National Assembly after representing his constituency in the House of Representatives. Otu is loved by his people. His entrance to the gubernatorial space was declared by Cross Riverians as a done deal to revamp the state. A source said ” This man is very popular. His followers are very many. We knew that he will win when he joined the race, We believe that he will win the 2023 election. The bible says” when the righteous rules, the people rejoice”.
