The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Zone 7, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, will unveil the National Safe School Initiative and flag off a security data capturing exercise aimed at strengthening safety in schools.
The event, scheduled for Tuesday, at the Nigeria Police Force Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, will also feature the unveiling of the PCRC Safe School Initiative and the official launch of the Boostar App.
A statement by the Zone 7 Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Halima, on Saturday states that the initiative is designed to bring together key stakeholders in the security and education sectors, communities and partner organisations to promote safer learning environments for children.
The School Security Data Capturing Exercise is expected to provide relevant security information that will support better coordination and response to security concerns affecting schools and educational communities.
The initiative underscored the importance of collaboration between the police, communities and other stakeholders in addressing emerging security challenges and protecting pupils, students and educational facilities.
The PCRC Zone 7 urged stakeholders and partners committed to school safety to participate in the programme and support efforts to build safer learning environments across the country.
