The Former Interim National President, Chief Earnest Shonekan is dead.
Chief Shonekan died in Lagos at the age of 85.
The late president succeeded General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida and was head of the Interim Government between August 26 and November 17 1993 when he was overthrown in a coup led by General Sani Abacha ( deceased).
