The Adamawa Sate Police Command has arrested three members of a Kidnap Syndicate including a woman for extortion and threat to life
DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, in a statement on Saturday in Yola the state capital, said the suspects, Zainab Ahondu 50, from Jalingo, Taraba State,Suleiman Adamu 34, a resident of No 18 Alkali Street,Demsawo,Yola North and Abdullahi Ayuba,36, a resident of Ghana Crescent,Bekaji,Yola North, were apprehended at their various locations following report received and intense search by the police detective attached to State Intelligence Bureau.( SIB)
He said Investigations revealed that the suspects specialized in extorting their victims upon text messages threatening to kidnap them of certain amount of money was not paid.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, while commending the OC SIB and his men for making it difficult for the criminals to escape arrest had directed further Investigation into the case to bring up more evidence for prosecution.
