Imo patners with FRSC to curb fake number plates 

The Imo State Government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), state command to curb fake number plates and enforce traffic.

The MOU waa signed on Tuesday in Owerri, the state capital when the Chairman,Imo Revenue Service (IRS), Justice Okoye, left state government delegation to visit the FRSC Sector Commander,Mr Roland Onamusi

Okoye disclosed that the state government was proposing an inter-agency task force on traffic enforcement and said it needed the collaboration of FRSC in executing the task.

According to him, there was the urgent need “to commence the enforcement to curb the trend of fake number plates in the state.”

In his response, Onamusi said the rising spate of traffic violation in the state has huge potential for revenue generation and urged the government not to relent in the proposed enforcement.

He assured the governmentt of the Agency’s readiness to undertake the assignment .
