Nnamdi Kanu to be tried in absentia from Thursday, November 26 

A Federal High Court in Abuja has set Thursday, November 26 to begin the trial in absentia of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra( IPOB.)

Kanu’s trial in absentia followed the revocation of his bail on March,28,2019 by the trial Judge, Justice Binta Nyako

Nyako had ordered Kanu’s arrest and directed that his trial on charges of treasonable felony would proceed in his absence for failing to appear in court since April 26,2017 but the court had yet to have any sitting on the case since then.

The lead prosecting counsel,Magaji Labaran, had forwarded an application upon which Justice Nyako,’s orders for Kanu’s arrest and trial in absentia were based.

Five prosecution witnesses are reportedly lined up to testify against Kanu.
