Police arrest Man for burying his newborn grandson alive
A fifty year- old man, Audu Bawada,has been arrested by the Bauchi Police Command for allegedly buring his newborn grandson alive.
Bawada was said to have carried out the act after his 17 year old daughter gave birth to the baby.
A statement by Ahmed Wakil, the Command’s representative, said the teenage daughter and mother of the newborn was raped around January this year and gave birth to the baby boy.But her father took the baby and buried it alive behind his residence,
According to him, it took the police and a human rights organisation who brought the girl to the Toro police station from the Rimini Zayam district of Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State. to dig up the baby.
He said after the baby was dug up,the child was immediately rushed to the general hospital where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor
