Shites Ashurah procession ends in fatalities in Kaduna

Two members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria lost their lives on Sunday,when members of the sect were dispersed by security personnel while on their annual Ashurah procession in commemoration of the death of Imam Husain, the grandson of Prophet Mohammed.

One of the members, Bashar Mohammed,reportedly died on the spot while the other died later.

Akrhough the. State government and the federal government have outlawed the movement,members of the group claim they have freedom of worship and association as enshrined in the constitution.
