Gunmen on Saturday evening shot a councilor representing Ward 5,Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Karma Agagowei,was reportedly shot along Opolo while returning from the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) ward congress.
A source in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital who confirmed the incident said the deceased was rushed to the hospital including Glory Land Hospital and Federal Medical Center, Yenagoa,but was denied access to treatment due to lack of police report and died afterwards.
A second person shot along with the councilor in a commercial tricycle was said to have escaped with injuries from the gunshots
So far there has been no response from the police on the incident.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Anselm Butswat had told newsmen that no report had been made to the command regarding the incident.
