Professor Ogunsola had her first and second degrees at the University of Lagos, before proceeding to have her doctorate at the University of Wales, making her a home grown member of the institution and one conversant with the intrigues, Politics of citadels of learning it is expected that as the first woman so appointment, whose appointment has received a wild ovation in the University and across the length and breath of the country she would use her position to unite divided factions,and put the institution on the path of growth.
She was elected as Vice Chancellor by popular votes. In the election conducted Monday by the Senate of the institution with about 167Professors in attendance, Ogunsola scored 135 out of 167 votes to beat her closest opponent,Ben Oghojafor who polled 31
